How to add FSF to podcatchers
A note to all Five Stripe Final subscribers:
Substack podcasts (both free and paid) use RSS feeds, which you can add to most podcast apps for a unified feed. This is especially useful if you prefer apps like Apple Podcasts or Spotify over Substack's built-in player. We figured a little how-to-setup would be handy information for you to have if anyone wants to do it now or in the future.
Find Your Personalized Substack Podcast RSS Feed:
Log into your Substack account on the web or app.
Go to your account Settings page.
Click on Five Stripe Final.
On the manage subscription page, scroll to the "Private podcast feed" section and click "Set up podcast."
Copy the unique RSS feed URL provided (it may also appear in setup emails you got when you first signed up for Five Stripe Final).
Alternatively, if you're on your phone:
Open a podcast email or the publication page in Substack.
Tap "Set up podcast" to get the feed link or a QR code for scanning.
Add the RSS Feed to Podcast App:
Apple Podcasts: Open the app, go to Library, tap the three dots in the top right, select "Add a Show by URL," and paste the RSS link.
Spotify: This one’s easy, just search us on Spotify! But if you’re a paid subscriber and want to get the whole shows on Spotify, paste the URL into Spotify's search bar or link your Substack account via settings for seamless access to paid episodes.
Overcast: Tap the plus sign (+), select "Add URL," and paste the Substack RSS link.
Pocket Casts: Paste the RSS URL directly into the search bar—the show will appear; tap the plus sign (+) to add it.
Google Podcasts or Other Apps: Look for an "Add RSS" or "Subscribe by URL" option in the app's menu and paste the link.
Once added, new episodes will automatically appear in your feed. If the feed doesn't load, ensure you're logged into the same Substack account that subscribes to FSF and check for app updates. Note that paid subscriptions provide private RSS feeds for exclusive episodes—if you cancel, it reverts to free content only. This means whether you’re a paid or free sub or even go back and forth month-to-month, your private feed will automatically update accordingly, giving you one singular feed for all of your FSF needs. Speaking of signing up…
Do NOT Subscribe to Five Stripe Final Through the Substack App. Use the Substack Website.
Why? Apple. Apple charges fees to applications that offer in-app purchasing, and therefore whatever we set our price at on Substack ($7 per month) then gets inflated by 30% by Apple and we have no way to deny them the right to add this surcharge. It’s possible in the future that Substack will allow creators like us to disallow sign-ups to be made from the app. But for the time being, all we can do is advise subscribing at fivestripefinal.com to receive the cheapest possible price.
