I know, objectively, that I should be more attracted to the speedy, on-the-way-up player, but I'm also intrigued by the potential of a Edouard rebirth. He was so dynamic when he was fit and firing for Celtic, and he has shown brief glimpses of that player when given a consistent span of playing time in England. He's the bigger risk, for sure, but there's Josef-like "make good in America" vibes that I can't ignore.

Using my extensive research (5 mintue Google searches), I believe that Edouard is missing out of playing time because of Rebekah Vardy's husband! But in all seriousness, I thought we were focusing on players who have had success in multiple locations. While he did have success on Celtic which is not his native country, I'm still a little concerned about his performance in England. He's not played particularly well for either of the two teams. He's still young enough that it might be moot but his results over the last four season has not be spectacular. However, I would love to see a Josef-like rebirth.

As far as Lath is concerned, I think he's a much more risk-adverse commodity. Decent numbers in Italy with SPAL (0.33 per 90 at 18). Good numbers at St. Gallen (0.68 per 90 in 1,850 minutes) the next year and good numbers in the Championship as well (0.64 per 90 over two seasons). Love his speed. Definitely Option 1 I think.
