OFFICIAL: Atlanta United breaks MLS transfer record to sign Latte Lath
The Five Stripes complete their new look attack.
Atlanta United’s eventful winter transfer window just paid huge dividends as the club announced on Tuesday they have completed the permanent signing of striker Latte Lath.
The 26-year-old forward joins the Five Stripes from Middlesbrough on what is reportedly the highest incoming transfer fee ever paid by an MLS club. Tom Bogert has reported that the fee will be around $22 million plus some add-ons.
“We’re excited to sign Latte Lath and look forward to welcoming him to the club and the city of Atlanta,” Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson said. “He’s a forward with excellent pace and good goal-scoring instincts. His ability to stretch the field will add another dimension to our attack. At 26 years old, he’s entering the prime years of his career and has already shown his goal-scoring ability in multiple leagues in Europe.”
We’ve already written about Latte Lath’s profile extensively. Make sure you’ve checked out this article by Sam.
Atlanta United have completely revamped their attack with the additions of Miguel Almiron and Latte Lath. With a new manager and tactical system in place, it’s basically like a brand new team hitting the field in 2025.
The pressure of being the most expensive player in league history will be present for Latte Lath. As will having to follow in the footsteps of two wildly successful signings in Josef Martinez and Giorgos Giakoumakis. Here’s to hoping he adjusts fairly quickly and can become the productive forward the club brought him in to be.
He's going to score 565 goals!!! I am not exaggerating!!!
