What we can learn from Chris Henderson's Inter Miami tenure
Some good. Some bad. A lot of moves.

As the realities of Atlanta United’s season have set in, we here at Five Stripe Final have become a more……forward-looking outfit. I don’t want to do a tactical breakdown of the worst MLS game of the year. You don’t want to read a tactical breakdown of the worst MLS game of the year. And, frankly, it’s hard to pretend like any tactics were involved in the first place. Atlanta and D.C. aren’t bad in “The Room” way, they’re bad in the “Madame Web” way. You don’t get any laughs out of the experience, you just feel your brain deflating as you wonder how humanity could have possibly allowed things to go this wrong.
The bottom line is that we’re going to be more concerned with the upcoming transfer windows and the rehauling of this roster than anything else right now. While we’re looking forward, though, I thought it might be instructive to look back to see if there’s anything we can learn from Chris Henderson’s tenure as Inter Miami’s sporting director. Remember, Henderson spent nearly 13 years as Seattle’s technical director as essentially the second in command under GMs Adrian Hanauer then Garth Lagerwey. The Miami job marked his first time taking the lead job as a roster builder.
The short answer to “What can we learn?” is, “It’s complicated.” The longer answer requires a lot of context.
