Welcome to FSF Subscriber Week 2025

We're back and we hope you join us.

Do you feel that? That’s excitement. A rare emotion felt regarding Atlanta United over the past five years or so. With the season opener coming up on Saturday we are introducing a new feature here at Five Stripe Final. We are calling it Subscriber Week.

This new annual tradition is a collaborative effort between us and hopefully you, our generous and loyal readers. This week we will be producing a barrage of content to get you ready for a brand new season, starting with our written mega preview this morning and much more leading up to Saturday.

Our goal with Subscriber Week is to simply try and reach as many diehard Atlanta United supporters who either don’t know about us or are on the fence about subscribing to our content. All we are asking from you is to share our work with as many people as you think would be interested in consuming our sicko content covering all things Atlanta United. We’ll never ask for much but this one week of the year we are pleading for your help in getting the word out about our little corner of the Five Stripes world.

Let’s talk about why you should consider keeping your subscription or taking the plunge and joining the family.

Year One Rundown

First and foremost, let’s recap our first year as an independent media outlet. We could not be more pleased and thankful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from the community. Our subscription and readership numbers were overwhelmingly positive. Despite an extremely disappointing season to follow as a supporter, we never saw a dip in interest and support from you all. That’s an incredible testament to just how dedicated Atlanta United fans are.

As with any new venture, we spent some time finding our groove with our content production. Some experimentation with what works and doesn’t work as it pertains to covering this team nonstop throughout a season. We welcome any feedback or suggestions on how we can make the day-to-day consumption of content during the season more enjoyable for you.

Here are the perks we offer to subscribers and how it all works.

The World Famous Discord

The Five Stripe Final Discord is a huge asset we use to build, house, and foster our amazing community. We have daily discussions on any imaginable topic you can think of. From Bojangles biscuits to nerding out on spreadsheets. We welcome your participation.

We also use the Discord as part of our coverage of news and matches. Sometimes there are minor pieces of news that just aren’t in need of an article to go out to your inboxes, that’s when we drop a note in Discord to keep you abreast of any and all tidbits of Atlanta United info.

During matches is when our community really comes to life with everyone taking part in live chats during the action. In addition, we have our live blog feature where Sam, Joe, and myself react live to minute-by-minute happenings on the field.

Unfortunately, there is no integrated verification process to get you into the Discord. If you have subscribed and want an invite, you must add me on the app via username robusry.

Subscriber-Only Content

One of the biggest perks of subscribing is getting access to content that our free tier doesn’t. This includes extra podcasts, exclusive interviews, subscriber-only Q&A’s, and post-match vlogs with Sam and Joe. While we understand that paywalled content is frustrating, we try to make sure to balance out our content in a fair way to make sure everyone gets added value if they choose to subscribe. Donating to Soccer In The Streets

We pride ourselves on giving back to the soccer community. That’s why we have pledged to donate 10 percent of all proceeds from subscriptions to Soccer In The Streets. They are a wonderful organization that we all believe in.

A little update as far as our first year is concerned. We are pleased to say that our donation should be completed this week. Getting this venture up and running was challenging from a business perspective. Some behind the scenes bookkeeping maneuvering has left us with more work than we expected to make sure everything is in order and accounted for. Thanks to a lot of hard work we are approaching full functionality.
