Uhhhh, who's going to play fullback against Charlotte?
Pardon the interruption, but we have to discuss a third fullback, Ronald Hernandez, being ruled out of contention for selection tomorrow.
In a surprising twist ahead of Atlanta United’s first road test tomorrow in Charlotte, the team announced that Ronald Hernandez will miss tomorrow’s game with a quadriceps injury. A team spokesperson told Five Stripe Final that Hernandez was injured in training this week, but the injury is not considered serious and is being treated week-to-week.
Usually, missing Ronald Hernandez for a game isn’t a huge deal, but it is when Pedro Amador and Brooks Lennon are already ruled out. Those injuries forced head coach Ronny Deila into giving Matt Edwards his full debut in the season opener last weekend, and now Atlanta will have to bust out Plan D to find someone to fill in on the left side as well.
