After a plethora of rumors linking the club to several center backs and a high-profile midfielder, we finally have some smoke emanating from the attacking area of the field.
According to Luiz Carlos Largo of ESPN Brazil, Atlanta United are preparing a bid for Alan Velasco of Boca Juniors.
Doug Roberson followed up the initial report, saying it lines up with his reporting. He says the way the deck could be shuffled is Latte Lath being sold to open up a DP spot for Koke to join, the Velasco (or someone of his caliber) to join on a TAM deal to fill the attacking void.
Velasco is still only 23 years old. He joined Boca Juniors from FC Dallas in 2025 for nearly $10 million. He has struggled in his time at Boca, with form and injuries. Despite that, if this report is true, it’s hard to envision Velasco being sold for a low enough transfer fee to make him a TAM player. Perhaps that means it’s loan deal of some kind?
Either way, it’s just nice to see a rumor for a player on the attacking side of the field. For now, this is just a vague rumor until something else emerges. The transfer mill appears to be kicking into high gear. We’ll keep you updated on any pertinent info.
