Not loving this deal to be honest. Specifically because sounds like so much guaranteed money. But also he hasn't earned playing time at NewCastle recently and last two times I saw him play for Paraguay he was just OK (if that). Hope I am wrong! Lets see!

Three things give me a “worth a try”:

It’s Miggy, the boost in 17s morale will be insane and worth $10M by itself

He may not be at the elite international level anymore but MLS is far more forgiving (see: Benteke)

If he becomes a major liability, the FO has already proven adept at renegotiating contracts

Given all that, I think the benefits far outweigh the risk

I love this move for so many reasons. Lath was injured so I assume we are moving on from him? The other striker rumor was interesting because I do t think he’s the quickest, so we’d be heavily reliant on Almiron to get in behind, which tells me he will play on the left. Saba is creative but not very fast so I doubt he will be making runs to pressure the back line. But what the heck do I know??

Injured or “Injured”? Nobody has said yet that I can find.

Latte Lath is to Boro as Almada was to Atlanta: an elite player who has a massive impact on current play but whose exit would be extremely lucrative long term. That said they don’t need to sell, and Latte Lath isn’t exactly chomping at the bit to leave. So, honestly it could go either way.

True. I figured when he came off the field at basically the start of the game, it couldnt be good. But no word after that. So maybe precautionary, or maybe his knee fell off. Dunno
