Tata is using the ATL interest to leverage a better financial deal from LAFC. He, apparently, already has a verbal agreement with LAFC and it's a much better situation. LAFC already has a great team and it's LA. All this Tata talk is smoke and mirrors.
Assuming Tata and Hendo’s relationship is much better than Tata had with Boca, I’d still be curious as to why he would want to come back. He left here a legend, went on to do legendary things in Miami, and is better positioned roster wise to do even more legendary things in LA. Does love for the city of Atlanta and the fan base overcome the risk of not being able to recapture the OG magic, and possibly tarnishing that legend? We’ll see.
What about a different former-Celtic manager without a job: Ange Postecoglou?
Ange "is known for his distinct attacking, high-intensity style of play known as "Angeball." This philosophy is founded on maintaining possession, pressing aggressively to win the ball back, and using inverted full-backs to create overloads in the midfield. He is also known for being a strong communicator with a clear vision, having a history of developing players, and an ability to instill belief in his teams."
Sounds to me like exactly what this teams needs. Too lofty and untethered to the realities of MLS, or could it be a dream hire?
The problem with Ange is that he is a rigid system guy. He will play his system even if the players don’t fit it. He doesn’t try to match the system to the players. He only has one way to play and is inflexible. That did not work for his last two positions. Do we really want or need that?
Yeah, that seems to be the main issues at his last two stops. That said, Angeball seems pretty congruent with Atlanta's supposed identity: high possession/intensity, attacking soccer. Not sure if that's what this team can be as presently constructed, though if it can get there with a few roster moves and better coaching, I both want and need it.
Tata is the MLS version of the runaway bride. Easy no vote from me
Correct no to Tata
I know I'm not in the majority but would prefer they pursue someone less proven but on the rise.
A little hunger goes a long way.
Your not I don’t want tata back at all. We need fresh ideas….all in on Nancy whatever it takes to get him he would do wonders with a bigger budget
So we’re not calling ol’ Rob Valentino…? 👀
