cool analysis. I am reminded of people hailing Dom Dwyer due to the substitute effect.

Fair analysis. I am a little surprised GL's exuberance made it out of his mouth. Might feel the temp in the room up a bit.

I'm optimistic. That guy we got from Serie A back in 2017 that looked like quality but couldn't get many starts turned out to be pretty good in MLS.

I also look at the intangible things. When GG came from his previous club, the fans were “sad to see him go.” We were in a bit of a bidding war with GG.

Not with this guy. I don’t hear about anyone being sad we took their substitute. And I didn’t hear about any bidding wars. Maybe you did?

I’m not expecting this guys to change much.

His highlight reel doesn’t get me excited.

Almada’s highlight reel!? Freakin beautiful.

Almada could definitely pull out some incredible moments, but the inconsistency he showed I think is mainly related to waiting just a split second too long to make a decision. How many times did he take one too many touches and lose the ball with a wide open teammate?

I feel like Marianchuk is less talented technically but has far more conviction in his play. As soon as he gets the ball he’s ready to either pass it along or take it with him. That is a sizable advantage in MLS, given how many teams press or play a low block that you need quick, accurate passing to break down.

I’m not ready to join GL in his exuberance, but Miranchuk really does seem to address key areas that have been holding back Atlanta in general.
