Atlanta United were unable to follow up their scintillating performance from last week as they were held to a scoreless draw by D.C. United on Saturday night.

Tata Martino trotted out an unchanged lineup hoping to replicate the dominant and explosive display we saw against the Union. Things started off brightly with the Five Stripes looking threatening and lively. However, after the opening 15 minutes, things slowly deteriorated. Chemistry started breaking down all over the field and the team as a whole began getting frustrated by D.C.’s willingness to let them have the ball while defending in an extremely conservative shell.
