Seven Atlanta United players available for selection in 2024 MLS Expansion Draft
Here is who San Diego FC could snag from the Five Stripes.
We’re just a day away from the next MLS Expansion Draft where the league’s newest side San Diego FC will add five players to their inaugural roster.
Atlanta United are no stranger to losing players via the Expansion Draft. Nashville SC selected Brandon Vazquez from the Five Stripes in 2019 before trading him to FC Cincinnati for other assets.
This year, seven players have been left exposed. Most notable on the list have to be Luis Abram and Xande Silva. The other five players have all had their contract options declined already.
For Abram, it’s a simple matter of the financials. His salary exceeds his production and if San Diego need an experienced centerback, he could be a possible option. In Silva’s case, his form took a big dip in 2024 and a possible change of scenery could help him find his footing again.
Here’s the full list of who Atlanta United protected in this year’s draft.

Dude, AI reader learned to say Spanish names! That was pretty good lol
Can’t say I grasp the logic of leaving Silva but protecting Muyumba.
