REPORT: Emmanuel Latte Lath's transfer to Atlanta United being finalized
The 2025 squad is taking shape.
On the heels of the official announcement of Miguel Almiron’s return, Atlanta United supporters received even more encouraging news on the transfer front. GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert issued a report stating that the long-rumored deal to bring Middlesborough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath to Atlanta is nearing its final stages.
According to Bogert, Latte Lath has already completed his medical exam as part of the deal and all that’s left to tie up a few loose ends for the official announcement to come.
If the deal is completed, Atlanta is expected to fork over an MLS-record fee of around $22 million.
While the expectations will be extremely high for Latte Lath, he’s a player in the prime of his career that is choosing MLS over a possible move to another European club. To draw that type of player in, an exorbitant fee is to be expected.
While waiting for this deal to materalize, the Five Stripes has put in at least one other big money offer to another striker. Those pursuits will inevitably end if this transfer is completed.
Once the move is finalized, Atlanta United will have filled their two open DP spots in one offseason, giving them their best chance to as competitive as possible in 2025.
If true, this is suddenly a hell of team with these additions. Stupid excited now
The one I have waited on both Miggy and Alexi have a good weight med pass for pacey strikers. Now if we can move abram and get another solid CB we will be set
