The offseason is officially underway around MLS, which means the roster moves will be coming quickly. Atlanta United looks set to unload one of its squad players as Tom Bogert reports that Tyler Wolff will be traded to Real Salt Lake.
Bogert tweeted the news on Monday after the league’s four-hour trade window opened, reporting that the Five Stripes will receive $50,000 in General Allocation Money in return for the former Homegrown Player.
Atlanta United had already decided to decline their option on the 21-year-old’s contract. Real Salt Lake seemingly desired him enough to make sure they had exclusive rights to sign him, forking over the GAM for the right to do so.
Wolff has had an interesting career thus far in MLS, with one productive season under his belt. He’s also been on loan in Europe and struggled to find a consistent spot with the Five Stripes. At such a young age, he’s still got room to improve and develop.
Good luck, Tyler!
I played soccer with his dad. The family will always have a place in our hearts here. Good luck Tyler!
