I agree, it's pretty easily the most meaningful goal for Atlanta United this decade. Somewhat an indictment of how little meaningful soccer we've played, but that makes the moment itself even fonder for me.
I think this assessment is a bit harsh. He had become a workhorse and a stout defender. After he got help at CB, the defense was relatively airtight. When he was off the pitch, the team leaked multiple goals per game. Maybe with Tata identifying new talent, they’ll be more successful but talent assessment the past six years has been abysmal. Given that, I’d stick with a reliable player who continued to get better.
