Report: Atlanta United, Middlesbrough in agreement on Emmanuel Latte Lath transfer fee
The biggest hurdle has been cleared.
It appears Atlanta United are close to adding a new star striker. Tom Bogert has reported that the Five Stripes have come to an agreement with Middlesbrough on the transfer fee for Emmanuel Latte Lath.
The move is poised to once again put Atlanta atop the MLS record book for biggest transfer fee paid for an incoming player. According to Bogert, the fee will approach the $20 million mark.
While this was certainly the biggest hurdle in the transfer being completed, there are still steps that need to be taken in order for Latte Lath to seal the move to the States. The next step is for the player to agree on personal terms with Atlanta United. Once that happens, he must pass a medical to secure the deal.
With the heavily-rumored move for Miguel Almiron to return, in addition to a new No. 9 entering the fold, Chris Henderson and Garth Lagerwey are living up to their promise of overhauling this roster into something to be excited about.
Fingers crossed that both deals get over the line. But for now, things are looking promising in the A.
Well crap. I guess I was wrong. This is one way I'm happy that I'm wrong. I think he'll be a good addition.
