Rapids to trigger trade option for Noah Cobb, per Tommy Scoops
Atlanta will get a decent chunk of money.
Noah Cobb is no longer an Atlanta United player, according to Tom Bogert.
The Colorado Rapids will exercise the trade option on the centerback’s loan deal to permanently acquire him, per the report.
Atlanta United will receive $500,000 in General Allocation Money in return.
The loan move was met with much consternation by Atlanta supporters when it happened. Losing a young player who you’ve invested a lot of energy into following is never easy.
It’s clear that Atlanta is committed to rebuilding their defense, and apparently, Cobb wasn’t in their long-term plans.
What those plans exactly are remains to be seen, and have a lot of Atlanta fans scratching their head over this move to get rid of a promising defender.
There’s a long offseason ahead with twists and turns surely to come. At this point, we can only wait and see how everything plays out before fully judging these types of moves.
