Opinion: Steven Alzate’s signing signals club’s strong commitment to Ronny Deila

It seems like they are all-in on the current project.

Atlanta United officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Steven Alzate on Monday. This has been a clear area of need for a long time, so the acquisition of a holding midfielder in this summer of major roster turnover comes as no surprise. Given this club’s track record of important signings since the end of 2018, there’s no telling if this one will pan out or not. However, what’s clear to me is that the recruitment of Alzate is a statement of intent from the club’s front office that they are pushing all of their proverbial chips in on their current project.
