OPINION: Atlanta United should bring Josef Martinez back

Logic? Where we’re going we don’t need logic.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug. You’ve fallen victim to it and so have I, many times. Let’s be honest, the last five years of being an Atlanta United supporter has been pretty rough. It’s almost impossible not to look back on the good ol’ days and bask in the glory days.

It doesn’t get much more nostalgic than picturing Josef Martinez in a Five Stripes shirt, rifling a shot into the back of the net and kneeling in front of 70,000 screaming fans. The train horn blowing, the smoke machine blasting. Like Don Draper spinning his carousel, the hit of dopamine just thinking about the amazing memories is enough to make me shed a tear.
