This is more of what I expect in the analysis of the match. I would hope that you could also detail the AU scores to describe what was done differently. Do both halves of the match.
Why do we enjoy reliving the misery of that 5 goal first half beatdown point-by-point, on 0.5x speed? Idk, but this pleeb appreciates the tactical cam-manna from our FSF overlords.
After a couple rewatches, I think some of the blame for goal 4 ought to be reallocated. Mihaj is the the player that steps up, vacating the backline, leaving Amador to fill in as center back, and then its Amador who plays that disaster pass out to the box corner. Alzate later comes in with a poor touch directly before the goal happens, but in fairness, he was under a lot of pressure. It seemed like there were many opportunities to build out of pressure in that sequence and Atlanta flubbed them all.
Also gotta say, goal 2 was a thing of beauty. That's what a team all operating on the same page looks like. Jealous.
Gregerson, while not the initial failure point, absolutely should be expected to stop goals 1, 3, and 4. It's what center backs are paid to do. On #1, Stian just stops and watches an obviously threatening situation, allowing Rossi to just walk past him and ultimately collect the ball. On #3, he seems completely asleep... takes no note of arriving attackers at all. And as noted on #4, he simply just stops playing soccer. Ronald Acuna would get benched for that lack of effort.... let Stian play with the 2s for a while and earn his place. Between his injuries, his apparent lack of cardiovascular capacity to play 90 minutes, his frequent narcolepsy, and numerous technical weaknesses, he's an automatic buyout in my book.
I agree that Gregersen was abysmal in that first half, and shares responsibility on a majority of the goals allowed, but he's far from the biggest buyout contender. I'd rather save that mechanism for more serial offenders, of which there are several.
No longer on my soapbox, I do agree the list of candidates is long. But your number one center back is supposed to play 90% of your games, make the fewest mistakes, cover a lot of the mistakes of others, and bring order to the defense. Stian does all of those things in principle (which is what keeps Joe excited), but none of them in practice. And we've got a pretty big sample size. Even if he's healthy, mid-table looks like a ceiling, because you can just pencil in 8 to 10 losses before the first game is played.
I should also add that I deeply distrust any player, but particularly a defender, who just effing doesn't show up for a game. That's really probably why my bit flipped from a 1 to a 0.
I continue to believe that these players are better than their performances under Deila. Maybe that's naive but I think that once he goes, the individuals start to live up to their individual expectations. My concern though, is that we never get to test this theory as the front office continues to drag their feet and then we ultimately end up throwing out too many babies (players) with the bath water. Sigh. Still think this could have been an awesome season under the right manager.

Brent, checking in to see how you are thinking about gregerson after his latest injury. Does it ever stop?
Appreciate the breakdown
