Atlanta United winger Edwin Mosquera out 4-6 weeks after successful knee surgery
The Fives Stripes will be shorthanded heading into a win-or-go-home playoff game Saturday night.
Atlanta United today announced that midfielder Edwin Mosquera had successful surgery on his left meniscus. His rehabilitation process will determine his recovery timeline, however Mosquera will be out for approximately the next four-to-six weeks.
Mosquera likely wont be the only Atlanta United player to miss Saturday’s playoff game against Inter Miami, as Stian Gregersen and Brooks Lennon both missed the team’s training session Tuesday after leaving Game 1 of the series on Friday due to injury. Gregersen reportedly suffered a hamstring strain, while Lennon suffered a dislocated shoulder in the team’s loss on Friday.
Ronald Hernandez, who missed the game due to illness, was back in training Tuesday and will likely be in the starting lineup if Lennon is unable to play.
One of our season ticket group ran into Brooks yesterday at a grocery store. Brooks said he was playing.
Didn't Mosquera have a previous knee injury requiring surgery? If so, was it the same knee?
