What do you get when you put two of the worst teams in MLS together on the same field? Well, perhaps the worst soccer game of the season, of course.

Atlanta United and D.C. United played to a scoreless draw on Saturday evening in our nation’s capital. Whoever coined the nickname The Beautiful Game, probably didn’t envision this brand of soccer being played.

To illustrate just how dire of a display this match was, Atlanta United had a grand total of 0.02 xG at halftime with their lone shot attempt being an Alexey Miranchuk effort from distance that missed the goal by about 30 yards.

Atlanta would eventually generate one clear cut scoring chance throughout the 90 minutes only for their struggling $22 million striker to shank an open shot nowhere near the goal.
