Atlanta United wrapped up a five-match road trip with a 1-1 draw against Toronto FC on Saturday night. The result means that the Five Stripes picked up just two of a possible 15 points during this stretch after winning back-to-back home matches in late May.

While Atlanta’s performance was improved on the night, it must be said that not only is Toronto an abysmal soccer team, they were also operating without a single Designated Player on the field. Yet, even with all that said, Ronny Deila’s side needed a VAR-aided penalty kick in the 11th minute of second half stoppage time to salvage a point.

Despite the lucky result against a completely inferior opponent, there were some bright spots to talk about and of course some not so bright ones. Here are three thoughts on the night in The Six.
