Atlanta United’s three-match streak of draws came to a crashing end on Saturday as Charlotte FC came into Mercedes-Benz and left with a win. Ronny Deila made significant changes to his starting lineup that paid immediate dividends as the Five Stripes enjoyed a bright first 45 minutes.

Despite going into halftime up 1-0, Deila’s side suffered a second half capitulation off the backs of an unexpected substitution of Efraín Morales and a questionable decision to replace him with a homegrown right back instead of veteran natural centerback.

Even with another back breaking loss at home, there were some interesting things to spotlight in this match. Here are a few thoughts.
